What is the difference between civil and criminal court cases?

i need to know for my midterm tomarrow! please helpWhat is the difference between civil and criminal court cases?
besides the laws involved the rules of evidence are different, and the jury in a criminal case must be in agreement, where as in a civil matter they don't all have to agree, just a majority.

In a civil case the judgment is usually money, where as the criminal case can include jail time and money. What is the difference between civil and criminal court cases?
Criminal...you could go to jail (criminal damages).

Civil....monetary damages.

You can be tried for a crime twice...one criminal, the other civil.
Civil cases involve private disputes between parties. Criminal cases involve violations of law.
