Do Justice of the Peace courts hear criminal cases, civil cases, or both?

That depends on where you live, not only the state, but the county and city or town as well.





In the USA, bankruptcies must be filed in bankruptcy court, a branch of the federal court system.Do Justice of the Peace courts hear criminal cases, civil cases, or both?
In Texas, both.
